Jaquet Droz welcomes the Chinese New Year

On the occasion of celebrate the Chinese New Year, Jaquet Droz, launches 4 models with the characteristic symbol of the new beginning, the fire rooster.

The culture that characterizes one of the most important countries in the East has led to the watchmaking to take inspiration from the most emblematic traditions of the Chinese civilization. In order to preserve the most historical pieces, Jaquet Droz host the watches inside the Forbidden City to witness the bonds that unite the watchmaking brand and the continent.

On this occasion the artisans of the Ateliers d’Art takes inspiration of the Petite Heure Minute to create two totally new models with the emblematic fire rooster, the tenth animal in the Chinese zodiac. The positive forces, the civil virtue, the combat skills ande the courage and the sense of protection, are some of the peculiarities that host into the new watches that pay homage to the Chinese New Year.

In order to pay tribute to the miniature painting, one of the two models is embellished by the legacy of the Enlightenment masters through its Grand Feu enamel dial. In 39 mm red gold cases and set with diamonds for the 35 mm modelo, these pieces reflect the handcrafted work of the brand. The other model reflects springtime renewal of “the Queen of Flowers”, where the rooster is at the bottom of the hand-engraved oscillating weight in a watercolor style.

Limited to 28 pieces, the first Petite Heure Minute Coq combines the elegance of red gold over the jadeite dial with mother of pearl. The unique essence of this piece, is due to the use of jade, one of the most important materials in Asia.

In a Limited Edition to 8 pieces, the third version is characterized by the glittering glow of the rooster feathers. The sun rising, the relief of the mountains and the delicacy of peony petals are the protagonists that embellish the dial with precious stones.


Powering by a automatic mechanical movement with double barrel and a silicon escapement, these four models comply with the elements that govern the accuracy of time.
